Display Content Date
for
Display Content Date
Display the date that the content was created. === What Problem This Solves === A user doesn't know whether the content is still valid or can't assess the context of when it was written, e.g. for a restaurant review, government policy information. === When to Use This Pattern === Use this pattern when the date of the content might matter or the content may become invalidated over time. Among other topics, this applies to: reviews, opinions, event information, regulations and rules, news and anything concerning travel. === What's The Solution? === Display the date alongside the full content. Use a clearly identifiable date format, e.g. 12 January 2001, not 01/12/01. Consider adding the word "Created", "Posted", or "Published" to the date to clarify that the date isn't the date of the most recent comment or edit, etc. === Why Use This Pattern === The user can better assess the age and validity of the content, and avoid outdated information.<br> === Examples Gallery === [[Image:Huffington-post-created-date.png|thumb|left|The news website Huffington Post clearly displays the Posted date]] === Categories<br> === [[Category:Microcopy]]
