The first thing to remember is that everything you add to this Wiki is easily changed, reverted and deleted. Feel free to try things out and become accustomed to the wiki editing controls. 

To add a pattern: 

#Check that a similar pattern doesn't already exist by browsing the relevant category of current patterns by clicking on a category name in the top menu. 
#If the pattern doesn't exist, type the proposed title of your pattern into the Search box in the right column and perform a search (click the search button or press return). 
#On the search results page, click the link to create your pattern, where the page asks you to: ''Create the page "<u>Pattern Name</u>" on this wiki!'' 
#Follow the pattern template in the editor. If a section isn't relevant to your pattern, delete the instructions and section title. Don't worry about following the structure too much; feel free to add and delete headings when it makes sense to you. 
#If you need to upload any files, for example an image for the gallery, first save your file. Then: 
##Use the ''Upload file'' link in the footer menu to upload your file, making a note of the filename. 
##Re-locate the pattern that you would like to add the image to either by finding it under 'New Patterns' in the right column or by using the search box. 
##Re-edit your pattern by using either the Edit link in the upper right side of your entry, next to the title, or on the footer menu. &nbsp; 
##Use the Image button on the editor toolbar to locate your file (by filename). 
##Choose the "Thumbnail" image type and align it "Left". 
##Don't worry if your caption doesn't appear in the WYSIWYG editor - it is there! This is a bug with the current system. You can edit your caption by clicking on the image in the editor then pressing the image button in the toolbar.

You can edit your entry as often as you like so don't worry about making mistakes, or saving an unfinished article. To re-edit a page you've closed, relocate it (using the search box or under 'New Patterns' if applicable) and click on the 'Edit' link at the top of the page or in the footer.<br>
