Teaser Headline
Use a modified headline for an article when displaying it as a link/summary, to the main headline when you view it in full. === What Problem This Solves === When a user scans a list of potential articles to read, they may need an emotional connection or short "sound bite" to pique their interest; when they decide to read the full article, an informative title may be more appropriate. === When to Use This Pattern === Use this pattern when your content is informative and formal (e.g. news, reviews, political), and is often presented as a short synopsis or list of links, rather than in full (e.g. on a home or other navigational page or archive). === What's The Solution? === If necessary, modify your content management platform so that it can accept two headlines / titles for an article. Edit your teaser headline so that it uses sound-bites or more emotional phrasing than the formal title; remove unnecessary words that don't convey the key point. === Why Use This Pattern === Edit this. Describe the user and business benefits for this pattern, with links to evidence or additional research data if available. === Examples Gallery === [[Image:Bbc-teaser-title.png|thumb|left|The BBC News site uses teaser headlines]] === Categories<br> === [[Category:Editorial]]
